A Smattering of Sites · Thursday February 8, 2007
I’ve recently been working on building a couple of new websites with Creative Commons UK, and I’m pleased as punch to announce that they both launched today and ON TIME.
First off, there’s the Mix&Mash film competition at www.mixandmash.cc, which encourages video artists to remix Creative Commons and Public Domain content into a short movie with the theme “Brittania Rules, Brittania Sucks.”
Secondly, there’s the rebuilt main Creative Commons UK site at www.creativecommons.org.uk, which is a resource for artists and content creators to license their work for sharing and open use under a less-restrictive regime than traditional copyright schemes.
Both sites use Textpattern for content management and CSS/XHTML for layout and markup.
Other Stuff:
Insideowl is a recent blog that I launched a couple of weeks ago in collaboration with my good friend Flint. It’s “a journal of human behavior, astanga yoga, and the edge of sciences,” and a bunch of other stuff inbetween. Quickly becoming a favorite read.
Speaking of Flint, I’m currently working with him and Jona of YACHT on the design and build of Veneer. And then I will become “Online Editor” or something to that effect. PROJECTS ARE COOL.
Fieldswildsalmon.com has been slightly retooled with a Textpattern install on the back end so that the good folks at Fields can update their own site. There’s also a new photo gallery with Lightbox functionality, but no photos as of yet.
