“i found for my thesis finding one specific media outlet to use as a lens for trying to understand everything else was a good way to balance the need for focus and the desire to go broad. blogs are conducive to this because they literally link to each other.
“my personal instinct with the copyleft stuff is that i would only be able to pursue it as a debunking of the utopian claims that get floated about. (illustrating the way “remixing” corporate culture as a central activity just keeps us fixated on corporate culture rather than actually resisting it—-note the strong free market/libertarian ideology of Wired/Boingboing.”
