Dear Those Of You Who Want News From London:
I haven’t disappeared. I’m finding this massive city a bit exciting and a lot overwhelming. Once I have an actual place to live and get a bank account and start courses and figure out how to add minutes to my “pay-as-you-go” mobile phone, I promise to write something more substantial here. It’s hard to get motivated to blog in this weird de-centered state I’m in right now, riding the tube back and forth between South Wimbledon and New Cross, looking at rooms in houses that seem expensive but generally aren’t that exciting (beggars can’t be choosers).
Weird note: Everybody is a professional here, they have fancy “work clothes” and commute into Central London at 6:30am to work 10 hour days. Oh yeah, and old bikes from the 70s that would cost $10 in Anacortes are about £180 at the used bike store here. That’s $350! I know, right?
Hey, look at all the famous people that went to Goldsmiths. I didn’t know that both the Young British Artists and Blur formed at Goldsmiths.
